Egypt Travel Guide: The Best Places to Visit in Egypt
- Egypt is home to some of the world’s oldest and most impressive monuments. The Giza Pyramids are a well-known landmark in Egypt, but that’s only part of the country’s offers. Cairo day tours should be made to Saqqara Step Pyramid and Dahshur Pyramids to see the lesser-known but more enjoyable pyramids. Spend a Cairo attractions tour, learning about the city’s rich history at the Egyptian Museum and exploring the city’s many churches and mosques.
- With its proximity to the Mediterranean, Alexandria is a great day trip destination from Cairo, where you can visit the library of Alexandria, Pompey’s Pillar, the Roman Amphitheatre, and the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa.
- Besides the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, Luxor is home to the massive Karnak Temple and the Temple of Luxor.
It would take days to visit all of the tombs and temples on the West Bank. Open-air museums are just as big as this. - In our Travel Guide in Egypt, we have to take you on a felucca ride down the Nile and see the stunning Philae Temple in Aswan, Egypt. The Temple of Abu Simbel, situated close to the Sudanese border, is worth visiting. Ramesses II is honored with this temple. As water levels increased during the construction of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s, the entire temple, together with the mountain of granite it was cut into, was meticulously disassembled and relocated to higher land.
- Visit oases in the Sahara Desert for some added excitement to your journey; Egypt has beautiful Oases of Dakhla, Kharga, Bahariya, Siwa, Farafra, Fayoum in the Western Desert that will make you relax and chill to enjoy your time there.
What is the Best Time to Visit Egypt?
November through March, Egypt’s winter, are the most pleasant months to visit. It is doubtful to rain in the southern cities of Luxor and Aswan. December and January are the busiest months.
