How to Plan a Group Trip to Egypt for Your Church, Sorority, or Family Reunion

Some of the most powerful trips we run are group trips: a church congregation walking through Coptic Cairo, a sorority chapter celebrating a milestone at the Pyramids, three generations of one family sailing the Nile together. If you are the person organizing it, this guide is for you.

1. Start early

Begin planning 6 to 12 months before your travel dates. Group space on Nile cruises and in the best hotels books up quickly from October to April, and your travelers will need time to save, renew passports, and request time off.

2. Decide the basics

  • Dates and length: 8 to 12 days covers Cairo, a Luxor to Aswan cruise, and Abu Simbel. Add a few days on the Red Sea for a relaxing finish.
  • Group size: a rough number is enough to get a quote. Pricing usually improves as the group grows.
  • Comfort level: standard, superior, or luxury hotels and cruises.
  • Focus: faith sites, African heritage, celebration, or a mix.

3. Get a group quote

Send us your basics and we will reply with a custom itinerary and per-person price. Ask about a free or discounted place for the group leader, which is common for larger groups.

4. Collect deposits and details

Set a clear deposit deadline and a final payment date. Collect passport names exactly as printed, dietary needs, mobility needs, and roommate preferences for the rooming list. One organizer handling these details with us keeps everything simple.

5. Book flights

Group air from a single U.S. city lets everyone arrive together. If your travelers are spread across the country, we can meet arrivals across several flights at Cairo airport.

6. Prepare your travelers

Share a packing list, visa instructions, tipping guidance, and a pre-trip meeting on Zoom. We can join to answer questions.
