This 8-day itinerary is designed for African American and Black travelers who want to experience Egypt as an African story, from ancient Kemet to the Nubian south.

Stand before the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, walk through thousands of years of history at the Grand Egyptian Museum, and feel the energy of historic Cairo and the Khan El Khalili bazaar. In Alexandria, explore the Citadel of Qaitbay on the Mediterranean, the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the city’s Greco-Roman past. In Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes, walk the great halls of Karnak and Luxor Temple, descend into the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, and visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Timed for the holiday season, it is a chance to trade winter for warm, sunny days in Egypt and celebrate somewhere unforgettable.

On arrival in Cairo, our representative meets you with a Black Travel Egypt sign and takes you by private air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2: Cairo – Great Pyramids, Saqqara & Memphis

Explore the Giza Plateau and the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the last surviving wonder of the ancient world, alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. In Memphis, the first capital of a united Egypt, see the colossal statue of Ramesses II. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: Cairo – Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo

At the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, your Egyptologist walks you through masterpieces from every era of ancient Egypt. Day 6: Luxor West Bank - Fly to Cairo

Cross to the West Bank and descend into the painted royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings. Visit the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, set against towering cliffs. Then take a short domestic flight to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
